violent crimes

As part of Sol Golf´s participation in the Neighbourhood Watch scheme we have received the following.
While not wanting to cause alarm to owners we feel we need to pass on the information and also the advice given in the email. Could all owners remember if they are subject to any crime here on Sol Golf that we need to report it to the Neighbourhood Watch and can do so via Denise at no 5 phase 1.

Denise,

Subject:-Violent muggings

In addition to the violent muggings circulated previously (see below), most of you will have seen in last Friday's, Costa Blanca News, details of four similar attacks on the Orihuela Costa. Three of them occurred when people were leaving the Villa Martin Plaza late at night, some on the road to Eagles Nest and the other by the nearby canal. I fourth occurred when two girls were robbed by La Zenia island. The assailants were described as being 4 men who speak Spanish and English with an Eastern Europeon accent and were driving an old black BMW car on Spanish plates but number unknown.
Action:- The Police are looking for these men and if seen, contact them via the 112 system.
Most important:- Follow the advice given below.
Keep alert and keep safe.
Please pass on to those not on e-mail
Chris.
Circulated to:- L.Z., All O.C.'s, C.C., Outs and Associates.

Denise,
Subject:- Warnings and thefts.
1) Persons returning home from bars at night targetted by gang of muggers.
On two occasions last week different couples were returning home from bars near to the coast and crossing waste land
or deserted streets when they were attacked from behind, knocked to the ground and robbed of their property. On the one
occasion hospital treatment was needed. On both occasions the assailants were not seen but were thought to be four or more
North Aftricans.
Advice - When returning home during the late evening or the night, try to walk with others and in well lit and populated areas.
Only have with you what money you need for the evening and only Bank cards and documents if needed.Try not to
become a target.
2) Taken from the letter page of today's Leader - Pick pockets in Playa Flamenca
Place:- Lidl's Supermarket, Playa Flamenca, Orihuela Costa
Date and Time:- 22.3.08 3.40 p.m
Method:- Team of 4 possibly Eastern European males attempted to steal wallet from shoppers pocket whilst accomplice
distracted him trying to reach article from shelf.
Advice:- This type of crime not only occurs in Lidl's supermarket but in most supermarkets. Do not be distracted by other
customers.Do not carry wallets in outside pockets. Do not leave handbags or other personal property in the shopping
trolley. Be also careful when leaving the supermarket and putting shopping in your car and never leave your car insecure
whilst returning the trolley.
Keep Alert and Keep Safe.
