Once again this year we are experiencing problems with the Communal pool. The amount of inflatables is ever increasing and now we even have boats with paddles!!. Could we please remind all owners that under Spanish law these inflatables are banned from use in Communal pools. If a child or adult is in difficulty in the pool no one will be aware of this as the surface is covered with these items. Should and accident or death occur then we as a Community will have to pay compensation as this is not covered under our insurance policy and there is not one available that would cover such an event as it is against Spanish law in the first place.
The other problem with inflatables is that they are been dragged along the streets and then thrown into the pool along with all the debris that the inflatable has collected on the way. We nearly had to close the pool on Monday evening due to this but after a couple of hours phoning Ray, and him coming out late at night the pool was taken back to a useable level.
All the owners that wanted sunbeds around the pool now have them. There are notices all round the pool for these to be replaced (stacked) when they are finished with. The fact that these are all left out along with the rubbish and various inflatables and toys every morning is adding on average 45 minutes to the cleaners day. We have therefore had to employ someone to clear this all away every morning at a cost of 10 euros a day. There will of course be objections to this, and any owner who is prepared to do it for less or nothing please contact the President.
