If you have been reading previous posts or have visited Sol Golf recently you will be aware that the lights in the internal walkway have been switched off for safety reasons.
There is a full electrician´s report on this site as to the reasons for this. It does seem that laying cables as they were (crossing each other and taped together, is established practice in Spain!!
The problem has arisen as ours are in internal walkways (under the manhole covers) the amount of rain we have had recently has not only weakened the tape it has moved the wiring about so that the high voltage cables were crossing the low voltage and this was as you can imagine extremely dangerous.
The electrician has now separated the wires and run them through boxes so that they cannot cross and the system is now safe so the lights are now back on. This work needed to be done on both phases and 15 boxes were used, we have not received the bill but the estimate was 50 Euros per box plus I.V.A. so hopefully it will be under one thousand euros. It is an expense that we could have done without but one that we have to pay to ensure the safety of all owners and guests
